Our Story

 

Jeff Lutman of Lovettsville started Stonegate Construction Company in 1987. In the beginning, Jeff’s projects were mostly small carpentry and repair jobs. Over the years Jeff took on larger additions, renovations and all variety of home improvement types of work. A large portion of that work was in the historic village of Waterford, Virginia restoring historical buildings.

 

 

In late 1997 Jeff met Alex Post of Hamilton. Alex had been remodeling and home building since 1986 in Loudoun County and around the beltway. Alex's projects included custom homes, larger additions and all variety of remodeling.

As Alex and Jeff worked together on projects, they realized that they had the same work ethic, craftsmanship standards and sense of what real customer service was. Thinking that their combined experience would be greater than the sum of the parts, they tested the waters of joining forces in 1998. Through several projects they found that it worked!

 

In March 1999 Jeff and Alex became the shareholders in Stonegate Construction, Inc., a Virginia corporation with a class “A” building contractor license.

 

 

Stonegate has several additional great employees that make it all work.

 

 

Our offices and showroom are in the 21st Street Design Center at Valley Industrial Park on 21st Street behind the renovated train depot in Purcellville.
